Founder Dr. Shigeo Shingo is dedicated to the development of Total Quality Management (TQM), just-in-time production (JIT) and lean production. He discussed these topics throughout his life, writing 18 books, seven of which were translated from Japanese to English. He has also worked extensively with Toyota executives, particularly Mr. Taiichi Ohno, who has collaborated with him to implement these concepts.

The Shingo model leverages the Shingo principles to create a sustainable culture of Organizational Excellence. These principles are divided into 3: Cultural Enablers, Continuous Improvement and Enterprise Alignment.

Why Enterprise Excellence matters?

In an organization, results depend upon the behaviors. In order to achieve Ideal results, leaders must create a culture in which ideal behavior is expected and clearly seen in each team member.

Many of the systems that guide the work of employees are designed to create a specific work outcome, regardless of the behavior the system results in. Managers need to reorganize management, improvement and systems in order to achieve ideal business results.

Principles are the basic rules that govern outcomes. The more a person internalizes principles, ideal behavior is understood clearly. Higher level of understanding the ideal behavior enables the individual to design systems for ideal results.
