Shingo Operational and Organizational (Enterprise) Excellence Model
UnoPro and The Shingo Institute
UnoPro began its activities in 2020 as the licensed affiliate of the Shingo Institute in Turkey. It pioneered the enterprise excellence journey on a regional scale by delivering its first Shingo workshop to the international technology giant Sensata Technologies in Bulgaria.
Today, as the leading consulting firm offering Shingo consultancy in Turkey, we guide organizations on their journey to transform their behavioral culture, align systems with principles, and achieve sustainable results.
Pull Back the Curtain on the Status Quo: Never Stop Asking “Why?”
The best way to lift the veil cast by the status quo is to ask “why” repeatedly. The Shingo Model systematizes this practice of inquiry, enabling the cultural transformation of organizations. It delves into the roots of behavior and invites a rethinking of the system.
What is The Shingo Institute?
The Shingo Institute is a world-renowned education and consulting body, part of the Jon M. Huntsman School of Business at Utah State University, established under the leadership of Dr. Shigeo Shingo, a key figure in the Toyota Production System. It is also the home of the Shingo Prize, one of the world’s most prestigious awards for enterprise excellence. It operates to assess and recognize the operational and cultural excellence levels of organizations.
What Does the Shingo Model Aim For?
The Shingo Model adopts an approach of aligning the systems that shape organizational behaviors with principles to create a sustainable culture of excellence. It focuses more on transforming internal behaviors than on technical tools.
The Three Dimensions of the Model:
- Cultural Enablers
- Continuous Improvement
- Enterprise Alignment
These three dimensions enable the redesign of systems under the guidance of principles that drive behavior.
Why is Enterprise Excellence So Critical?
- Results are directly linked to employee behaviors.
- Most systems focus only on outputs while ignoring behavior.
- Principles are the fundamental compass that determines the direction of behaviors.
- As ideal behaviors become clearer, the systems that support them can be designed more effectively.
- Sustainable success is possible through this structural alignment.
