Standardization

Standardization is the creation of procedures that all employees must follow when performing a task. The most fundamental method is SOP (Standard Operating Procedures).

Many SOPs detail the steps of an operation that follows a certain order. To ensure the work runs more efficiently, well-written standard operating procedures provide guidance, improve communication, reduce training time, and enhance job consistency. The purpose of a standard operating procedure is to define the performance of a controlled process.
